About Carla

Carla Jayne is a country-folk singer-songwriter who creates melodic songs about growing up in western Canada and finding a place in the world. Her music has been called reminiscent of Ani DiFranco, Maggie Rogers, and Joni Mitchell. Carla has performed at venues and festivals around Edmonton, including the Kaleido Arts Festival, SkirtsaFire Festival, the Station on Jasper, and Flying Canoe Volant Festival. In 2021 she was selected for the Tiny Lights Festival Ignites Series, and received a FACTOR Artist Development grant for her upcoming 2024 EP release. In her Music Degree majoring in Recording and Production at Grant MacEwan University, Carla received the Victor-Osten Performing Arts Award and won an Audio Engineering Society Competition for her mixing. Carla’s FACTOR-funded debut EP, Chinooks and Sea Monsters, was released in April of 2024. It garnered radio play across Canada, including on CBC and CKUA., and earned a spot on the Edmonton Journal’s Fresh Tracks list of “10 Must-listen Albums from Edmonton Artists in 2024”.
